film

You might wonder why film when it’s more expensive to work with!

Well it's timeless, no faddy processing; handles colours and tones beautifully. It's kind on skin, being not so sharp that it shows every detail, unlike digital photography. And let's face who wants to see themselves in HD!

Also it saves me hours at my computer as the film is sent to a professional lab in Canada for development and scanning. The scans mean you are still able to have collections with digital files to print and share.

Film photography is a more considered and slower process, no checking the camera every shot so I'm more 'present'. It is light hungry though, so scheduling around good and preferably interesting light is crucial.

You will receive your proof prints three to four weeks after your session. Then you can, if you wish, choose to purchase mounted or framed fine art prints.

The images below are mainly my family on older manual focus cameras, I have a couple of newer auto-focus cameras that work with my professional Canon lenses, that I intend to use for film sessions.
