A business portrait session and happy coincidence

Ben, an RSA researcher, recently contacted me regarding a business portrait commission in Burton-on-Trent, needed to illustrate a paper he is working on.  I was informed that the subject was a man making and selling  jewellery on Estsy,  also a photographer; so before accepting, I did what any female who works alone would/should do…  a few searches on the internet!

Einar’s bio page on his photography website mentioned that in 2008 he was short-listed in the same photographic competition as myself and my good pal Celia May.  Einar and I both used different names back then so it hadn’t dawned on us until this point.  It was really lovely to meet up and photograph Einar, he is charming and very talented.  I enjoyed seeing his various work, having a good chat about all things photographic and finding out about how he came to be living in this country.  I admire his creativity and tenacity and loved hearing how he improved his English by listening to Radio 4, especially ‘The Archers’; that really made me smile!

a selection of photos of man making jewelleryEinar engraves bangles and rings with clients own words or quotes, the one shown here was something from ‘Game of Thrones’; as neither of us watch GoT I’m afraid it was totally lost on us!  He also makes the boxes for packaging and cuts out lettering on business cards etc.  If you’d like to visit his Etsy shop you will find it here.
