Abba’s ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’
pass me a tissue!
I’m rather like my Dad… some songs make me cry and I haven’t had the courage to listen to ‘The Living Years’ by Mike and the Mechanics since he died. Dad didn’t take up photography until I was born; perhaps these lyrics, from an Abba song we loved, sum up why he and many people pick up cameras once children arrive…
“…She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers…”
The photographs I have of my own children grow more precious with each passing year. So this is why I offer heartfelt photography, the ‘real-life kind’; photographs to remind you of fun days at home; walks in your favourite park or local countryside, with the sun on your back and the wind in your face; of bedtime-story cuddles, wobbly teeth and precious hugs.
If you have been meaning to get in some photographs with your children, for that picture their grandparents long for, create that beautiful photo gallery for the hall, or that lovely album full of memories… I’d love to help.
