My pal and fellow photographer Katie Bailey posted a link on Facebook to this article; though obviously American it has resonance wherever you live. I know I am guilty; I avoided the camera, or more often than not hid behind it when my children were little. Twenty plus years on I’d love to go back and berate my younger self.
So all mums out there; please don’t wait until you’ve lost a few pounds, grown your hair out or whatever excuses you are making, grab your kids and get in front of the camera. You will always be beautiful to your family.
This in mind Kate popped round on a beautiful Autumn morning, her poppets in tow, with intention of getting ‘in’ a few photographs with them. I couldn’t resist a few solo shots of them first though, such well behaved little models.
Here is a family snap from 1996; a very rare and precious photograph as both my dad and I are in it. Rare as we were always the ones with the cameras…… I wish I had more.
lovely! I’m definitely a guilty mum! Right – this weekend! And love the photo of your family too!
