a personal project

Dad was an avid snapper, he had his first 35mm camera just after I was born, so my childhood and that of my brothers has been well documented.  He always shot transparencies and Mum has a cupboard full of slide magazines all neatly labelled and in date order.   They used to set up the projector and have a regular wander down memory lane, but since his illness and death they have remained in the cupboard.

I decided recently to take a couple of boxes home to scan each visit, until I’ve worked through them all.  The intention is to have some framed, print some out for mum and eventually make a book for each of my brothers.

This is one of my favourites so far;  technically it’s not great, but it’s such a lovely moment and snapshot of the era.  Don’t you just love our matching dresses!  There are a couple more on Pinterest and hope to add more over the coming year.
