In the days of shoulder pads, big hair and Duran Duran, two trainee British Midland minions struck up a friendship.  We had great fun, found ourselves in the odd scrape, survived our postings to Glasgow and Amsterdam and often joked about writing a sitcom.  Hard to believe my partner in crime is mum to these two charming young ladies!

We meet (though not as often as we’d like) at the Ferrers Centre on the Staunton Harold estate in Leicestershire,  it’s a convenient halfway house between our homes, also the cakes in the tea rooms are very good!

It was a beautiful Autumn morning, so we had a little wander to work up an appetite before descending on the tea rooms.  As I had my camera with me the walk did take a little longer than usual, but no one seemed to mind.

The light was beautiful, the girls were very patient, mum resisted a little but I managed to talk her into appearing in a few photographs (you will thank me one day P!).
