Photography, light & location scouting

The weather has been glorious recently and while it’s lovely to see the sun, the strong sunlight at this time of year can make portrait photography a little more tricky.  ‘Photograph’ was coined from two Greek words meaning light and drawing and good photographs need good lighting.   You will find that evenings, a couple of hours before sunset will provide the prettiest light, then a lovely location with the sun coming from the right direction (behind or to the side) will give you portraits that glow.  I’m toying with offering photography workshops for parents next year that will be full of useful tips on how to get the best from your camera; if you would be interested please drop me an email and I’ll be in touch if I decide to go ahead.

A couple of evenings ago I took my daughter for a wander to check out an agreed location for a photo session next month and to have a little fun, some giggles and fresh air…
